NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US SO COUNT US!

POWER starts with the CENSUS

Next week, March 15, everyone will receive the 2010 Census Questionnaire.  The Disability Policy Consortium is prepared to help ensure that all Massachusetts residents are counted!  To plan an event where people with disabilities can receive assistance completing the Census, please contact Robyn Powell immediately at rpowell@dpcma.org or 617-542-3522.  We need each of you to encourage everyone you know to complete the Census!

IMPORTANT

Every year, the Census helps determine how $400 billion in federal funds is awarded to states and communities. This includes support for programs and services for people with disabilities such as:

social services • transportation • housing • healthcare •

employment opportunities • enforcement of civil rights

CONFIDENTIAL

By law, the Census Bureau cannot share your answers with anyone, including federal, state and local agencies. This includes immigration agencies and law enforcement entities.

EASY

Every resident will receive a short questionnaire with only

10 questions that is fast and simple to complete and mail back. Be sure to return your questionnaire by April 1, 2010.

To request materials in alternate formats or to complete the Census by telephone, call the Telephone Questionnaire Assistance Center at 1-866-872-6868 or via FedRelay 1-866-783-2010 (for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing). For more information on Census assistance available for people with disabilities, visit www.2010.census.gov or www.dpcma.org
