Join us for a Briefing on the Importance of Protecting Olmstead

On behalf of The Arc of Massachusetts and the Disability Policy Consortium (DPC), you are invited to a legislative briefing on October 28th from 11:00am-Noon in room 428 of the Massachusetts State House, and online.

This briefing will explore the crucial implications of shifting federal guidance, the status of community-based infrastructure in Massachusetts, and strategies for protecting the promise of Olmstead.

For over 25 years, the landmark Supreme Court decision Olmstead v. L.C. has served as the bedrock of disability civil rights, guaranteeing the right of individuals with disabilities to live and thrive in their communities. Following the Department of Justice’s June 2026 memo regarding Olmstead enforcement, Massachusetts faces critical policy questions surrounding the future of home- and community- based services (HCBS).

We look forward to engaging in this important conversation with you. Light refreshments will be served. To attend by zoom, please register at https://arcmass.zoom.us/meeting/register/BX8olxKsTEuN_EzOtmP3-w#/registration
